A brief reflection on the Constitution and School

Liceo Scientifico G. Alessi - Perugia -

10 minutes to think, express ideas for 10 minutes, 10 minutes confront in accordance with the views of all because we are all equal ... without distinction of sex, race, language, religion, political opinion, personal and social conditions " (Art. 3). Because we believe that the school is that the Constitution inclusive and at the same time secular and pluralist because we believe that its primary purpose is to promote integration among students, making them equal in the enjoyment of rights, while respecting diversity.

Where else but in public schools, it promotes the ' equality? (Article 3) Where else but in public schools, an effort is made to ensure equal educational opportunities , both that the north south because the Republic is one and indivisible? (Article 5) Where else but in public schools will provide access in all, including students with disabilities because all citizens have equal social dignity ? (art. 2)

The Constitution of the Italian Republic dedicated to education and school two specific items which are proposed to the reading on March 11 , preferably all at the same time, the beginning of the fourth hour:

Article 33

Articolo 34

La scuola è aperta a tutti. L’istruzione inferiore, impartita per almeno 8 anni, è obbligatoria e gratuita . I capaci e i meritevoli , anche se privi di mezzi, hanno diritto di raggiungere i gradi più alti degli studi. La Repubblica rende effettivo questo diritto con borse di study, payments to families and other provisions, which shall be assigned through competitive examinations.
